Art as a Revolutionary Tool

In 2012, the Dutch artist Jonas Staal founded the New World Summit to provide 'alternative parliaments' to host organizations that currently find themselves excluded from democracy. A few days after his return to Amsterdam from the latest New World Summit in Rojava, Syria/Kurdistan, we met with Jonas Staal to find out about his organization and how art can be a revolutionary tool.

The video is produced by Elena Askløf and Peter Laugesen as one in a series of twelve under the Europe in Action education project made in collaboration between Elena and Peter and the Association of Folk High Schools in Denmark – supported by Europa-Nævnet.
